in a boat it is also crucial to stay quiet. Any loud noises will spook the fish and there goes what could have been your trophy bass. If there are any trees,  shrubs, or bushes in the area you could try to hide out behind them as long as you are able to cast your line.

There is also a technique called flipping that will get you down to the fish with very heavy weight. You could also try  using soft plastic swimbaits, frogs, and mice to skim over the top of the lily pads. Be sure to use rig your baits weedless or you will have a real bad day!

When you are night fishing for bass and you will be remaining stationary it is probably best to use live bait. If you are in a boat and can cover a lot of water you should try some artificial baits that make some noise and are brightly colored. This will help the fish find your bait and you will not have so many missed hits.

Weeds in the water extending a few feet out from the shoreline are a really great place for bass to hide in. They will sit and wait for an unsuspecting bait fish to swim by and ambush them before they even know what happened. You could throw  any kind of weedless artificial bait along the edge or over the top of them and commonly get a few hits.

You should be looking for structures underwater like stumps and big rocks. Big bass like to hang out near these as ambush points. Use a few different lures to see what the bass are feeding on. Cast your baits in the area a few times times to see if there are any fish that may need a little coaxing.

If you land a fish keep casting in the area. Stay there and keep fishing. Throw a few more times. Sometimes other fish will accompany the fish that you just hooked and try to steal the bait right out of his mouth. This could turn into a feeding frenzy so get your bait back in the water quickly.
